about
This is arguably the most romantic poem ever written. In this song, the ancient Roman poet Catullus loses himself in his effusive desire to kiss his lover. He describes the hundreds and thousands of kisses they will share. Sadly, their love affair was doomed from the start and didn't end well. But Catullus has left us a wondrous work of art.
I (Keith Massey) wrote the music and sing on the track.

Lyrics
Vivamus, mea Lesbia, atque amemus, (Let us live, my Lesbia, and let us love)
rumoresque senum severiorum (and the gossip of stern old men)
omnes unius aestimemus assis! (let us count as worth only a penny)
soles occidere et redire possunt; (Suns can rise and set)
nobis, cum semel occidit brevis lux, (for us, when once brief light falls)
nox est perpetua una dormienda. (It is a night to be slept eternally)
da mi basia mille, deinde centum, (Give me a thousand kisses, then a hundred)
dein mille altera, dein secunda centum, (then another thousand, then a second hundred)
deinde usque altera mille, deinde centum; (then even another thousand, then a hundred)
dein, cum milia multa fecerimus, (then, when we will have made many thousands)
conturbabimus illa, ne sciamus, (will confuse the number of them, lest we ourselves know)
aut ne quis malus invidere possit (or lest someone be able to cast the evil eye on us)
cum tantum sciat esse basiorum. (when he knows how many kisses there were)
